WAPA Spring Picnic and Tour of Colonial Annapolis

Please join us on Sunday, June 8, for our annual WAPA spring potluck picnic at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis followed by a colonial walking tour of Annapolis city. Rides can be arranged, so please join your WAPA fictive kin on June 8 at 11:00 in Quiet Waters Park, Annapolis.

Please register by June 1, 2014, so we can plan for drinks and tour, etc.

IMPORTANT:  If you are planning to join us for the tour, please make sure to bring a picture ID and $12 cash per person.

FIRST STOP: 11:00 am - 1:15 PM

Upon entering the park, you will keep to the RIGHT and pass four pavilions, Dogwood Pavilion will be the fifth pavilion on the right.  Map of park

The pavilion is located near a river with rental kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, and more. Please bring appropriate clothing if you plan to get wet! Click here for more information.

POTLUCK

Please bring a dish according to the first letter of your last name:
  • A-I: Side dishes
  • J-L: Appetizers or dessert
  • M-Z: Main Course
NOTE: No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park!
There are grilling facilities, so it's OK to bring a dish to grill.
WAPA will supply beverages, paper goods, cups, charcoal, etc.

Those going on the second stop will need to leave the park by 1:15 pm at the latest to allow enough time to drive to Colonial Annapolis, park, and walk to the Visitor's Center, so please plan to arrive at the picnic site by 11:00 am.

SECOND STOP: 2:00 pm

Walking tour of Colonial Annapolis
Meet at Visitor Center for a colonial walking tour of Annapolis.  MAP
Leave picnic at 1:15 and carpool to the State Garage near the Annapolis Post office located at 1 Church Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401 for free parking.  MAP

Tour Details:
Cost is $12 for adults, $7 for children, bring cash. Adults must bring picture ID.
The walking tour will include a tour of:
  • St. Anne's Church
  • State House
  • St. Johns's College
  • Hammond-Harwood House (partial interior)
  • Chase-Lloyd House
  • William Paca House
  • Brice House
  • Pinkney Street to city dock
THIRD STOP: 4:30 pm
