NPS Cultural Anthropology Program: Internship Opportunity

The National Park Service (NPS) Cultural Anthropology Program will host an Archives and Research Assistant internship during the summer of 2022. This internship will be conducted in partnership with the American Conservation Experience through the Cultural Resources Diversity Internship Program (CRDIP). The Archives and Research Assistant will assist program staff with processing and cataloging legacy reports from the NPS Ethnography Program. 
  • WHO: Applicants must be 18-30 (up to 35 for Veterans) and either A) in pursuit of a higher education degree or B) still be within two years of graduation from a degree program. 
  • WHAT: Duties will include appraising and arranging digital records that span several years of program work within existing catalogue systems. The intern will work collaboratively with a digital design team currently updating the Anthropology Program's online portfolio. The CRDIP is a professional development internship that introduces students, from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the National Parks, to career opportunities within Cultural Resource Management in the NPS. 
  • WHEN: Applications are accepted through March 4, 2002.  The internship will be June - August 2022.
  • WHERE: This is a remote internship opportunity.  Local candidates (Washington DC area) may have the option for limited in-office time pending COVID work conditions. 
  • SALARY: $475/week living allowance and $1,200/month housing stipend
