Registration

Registration is closed

This year, WAPA's spring outing will be a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture on June 2!

REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL, BUT YOU CAN JOIN THE WAITLIST IN CASE THERE ARE LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS.

Logistics:

  • We will meet at the front entrance—where groups enter—at 12:00 pm.
    • The entire group must enter together, so it’s imperative that everyone arrives on time. If you are en route at 12 pm, you must call Laurie or the group will not wait for you—if you are very late, the group will be unable to wait, as we have a timed pass.
  • After we enter, we will go directly to the museum’s award-winning Sweet Home Café (it’s a little pricey, so please be prepared—apologies in advance for the cost).
  • After lunch we will tour the museum, starting on the bottom floor and working our way up, which is how the museum is meant to be experienced.
  • YOU MUST REGISTER on the website as soon as possible in order to be able to go.  We have a timed group pass for 40 people, so please don’t delay registering.
    • The number of people on the group pass must match the number of actual people entering, so if you have registered and find that you cannot make it, you will need to let Laurie know immediately. After noon on Friday, May 31, we cannot change the numbers and you will need to find a substitute to take your place.
  • After you register, you will receive an email that contains the list of things NMAAHC says that you may not bring into the museum.
  • There are a limited number of lockers available in the museum for storing your stuff, but it’s probably best not to take a lot of things with you.
  • Please wear comfortable shoes. It’s an extraordinary museum and we want to be comfortable while we walk around.
  • Wheelchairs are available from the museum’s security staff as soon as we enter and pass through security.
