Date: Sunday, January 25 Time: 4:00-7:00 pm Place: Home of Eleanor King 2617 Silverdale Drive Silver Spring, MD 20906 301-942-3713 You are invited to celebrate the (slightly used) beginning of 2015, catching up with old WAPA friends and meeting new ones. Please bring something to share based on the first letter of your last name:
If you cannot manage what you are listed for, no worries! Any contribution is greatly appreciated. SPECIAL NOTE: We invite everyone to bring along an anthropologist who is not a member of WAPA so we can welcome new people into the fold. Please let us know if you will be attending by registering on the website. Carpooling: Ride-sharing to the potluck may be coordinated on the carpooling page. You can subscribe by clicking on the link in order to receive email notifications when others post requests for or offers of rides. Directions to house: By car from DC: Go north up 7th Street/Georgia Avenue, past the Beltway, through Wheaton, past Randolph Road. The 4th light after Randolph should be Hathaway Street. Make a right on Hathaway, then your 3rd left on Silverdale Drive. The house will be on the right AFTER a semi-circle of houses, and just before a “dead end” sign. It has a carport and the number should be visible. If you use a GPS, please note that it will invariably direct you to the semi-circle of houses. We are not there, but just beyond it. A green Honda Accord is usually parked in front. By Metro: Take the Red Line towards Glenmont and get off at the end of the line, the Glenmont stop. NOTE: The house is over a mile from the Glenmont station and not easily walkable. We can be there to meet you if you call while you are still above ground at or before Silver Spring. The phone number is 301-942-3713. If you come by taxi (generally available at Glenmont station), please note the caveat about GPS in the instructions above for traveling by car from DC.
